New setting

I've started developing my own setting for 3.5e. I am planning for a theme of horro. I've never tried to pull it off before and I think it will be difficult. The rules are not helping set the mood either. They read like stereo instructions with little text and lots of stats. Well I'm going to give it a try. I'm satisfied with the results so far.

Saturday's game

Yesterday's game went well. Lee is DM for a 3.5e campaign of his own making. It went pretty good LOTS more roleplaying. I couldn't stay long and they didn't play much longer than I did. We have had construction at our place for two weeks and today is the last day. Should be the last game until after the holidays for me.

Saturday's game

We wrapped up Austin's game last night and I think it went pretty well. I felt like I had to carry the game as far as role playing goes. The other guys have not been gaming that long and I think they are stuck on "roll-playing". I think eventually we'll move on to more satisfying gaming but for a first-timer Austin did pretty good. I'm looking forward to Nino's try as DM, he's new as well.

This blogs name.....

comes from a running joke of mine in my games. Whenever the PCs start asking questions about an unimportant NPC, perhaps the barmaid or the blacksmith's son like "What is his/her name?". I'll just tell them "His name is Bill." which then some smart-ass will write in his notes "Bill-blacksmith's son". Soon that note sheet is full of Bills.

New Game

I'm working on a new game for the next time I GM. I'm getting back into GURPS. Specifically I'm working on a Transhuman Space campaign. It will be the first time I'll have never ran a sci-fi campaign before and I'm having trouble getting past my fanatsy setting mindframe. I keep looking for the evil warlords, thieves and dragons. Perhaps I should watch some Star Trek as a warm up

I've decided to start an RPG blog

I've started a blog to share my experiences role-playing. Not that kind of role-playing but the pencil and paper tabletop kind. You know Dungeons and Dragons and the like. Often misunderstood by many, tried by many kids in middle school and played by what seems to be very few adults. This is a place to share my current games, ideas and past experiences. Perhaps after reading this my wife can understand my hobby and the "nerdatoruim" I got to every Saturday.
